When combined with the fact that her own daughter is actually pregnant, the situation shifts from bizarre internet fiction to a genuinely alarming scenario for the safety of that daughter and her unborn babies. On an ultrasound, large or multiple degenerating fibroids can sometimes create confusing, dense masses that someone experiencing a profound psychological fixation or delusion might misinterpret—or intentionally pass off—as a fetal form.
