@trust.god.twin: You cannot ask God to forgive you while refusing to forgive someone else. . ↓ We want mercy for ourselves and justice for everyone who hurt us. We come to God asking Him to wipe our slate clean while we hold onto every offense someone else committed against us. We pray for forgiveness on Sunday and rehearse the bitterness on Monday and see no contradiction in that. But God does. He is very clear here. Do not expect His forgiveness if you are holding a grudge. He will not accept your worship, your prayers, your sacrifices, if you are still walking around angry and unwilling to extend to others what you keep asking Him to extend to you. Forgiveness is not saying what they did was okay. It is releasing the hold it has on you so that God can move freely in your life. The person you refuse to forgive has no idea they still have that kind of power over you. But God does. And He is waiting for you to let it go before He can fully move in the area you keep asking Him about. Life is too short to waste in bitterness toward people who have probably already moved on. Let it go. Not for them. For you.
