people in the comments mad at this "take" are proving the point. he's not making a statement about one person here, he's describing both the positive and negative perceptions of both people. he's saying people's views differ depending on what they resonate with. and it's true bc all of the explanations and theories can seem plausible, nobody knows what exactly went down bc theres incomplete and conflicting evidence. either way it's sad a case like this becomes such a spectacle

I’m mad at the state for failing these kids by not conducting a proper investigation. The state also destroyed the case by refusing to sequester the jury and giving a week protection. I don’t know who is guilty and who is innocent because the state didn’t do their job. So who am I, I’m serious I enjoyed your video and am curious where you’d put me.

While I agree with your point from a sociological perspective, I do think there’s a level of this that isn’t up for debate. What is now chaos began with those of us watching the trial live on YT or TT. I began watching from a psych perspective but seeing the DA present evidence and Patrick give his testimony, there were so many flaws with his timeline and the state’s investigation, I couldn’t even buy the PPD/PPP story. And then watching the experts testify, I was further convinced something was wrong. I studied psychology, neuropharmacology, and neuroscience, and the science does not make sense.

I’m afraid that the comments I’ve seen so far give a perfect example of this. You were clearly listing different perspectives and explaining how people have developed like this emotional attachment to them, but some people stopped at “Patrick is innocent” as if that was your opinion and went straight to the comments. I tried to stay out of it because this is exactly what happens when a case is sensationalized. People see themselves in the villain and take it personally, while others see themselves in the victim, and both feel it’s their mission to prove their side. But, ultimately, it was unavoidable and even I got wrapped in the logic of it and felt inclined to point the facts out. So, either way, I got stuck in the game myself. Reposting bc this needs to be said.

I dont care if you are a man or woman, religious or not, left leaning or right leaning, everyone should be basing their beliefs off of evidence. Sometimes evidence proves your core beliefs wrong and thats okay. Think it through and come to a new conclusion. At the end of the day though, please remember that everyone involved in this is a human being. 3 innocent lives were lost and many more lives are permanently scared due to this tragedy. That deserves acknowledgment. This isnt a TV show, this is real life with real impacts on real people. My heart goes out to those who lost a loved one in this case.
