@subhash.talreja: Happy Thadari! 💖 Thadari is one of the famous festivals celebrated by Sindhis , 7 days after Satyanarayan. This day signifies the birth of Yogmaya, who was Lord Krishna’s sister. On this auspicious day, food is cooked a day prior and consumed in the form of Cold Food the very next day after performing all the rituals. On this particular day, Chulha or Stove is not used. Some very famous food items prepared for Thadari are: Meethi Tikki (Made from Maida, Sooji, Milk), Lola (Sweet Koki), Baisini (Baisen Koki), Stuffed Daal Paratha, Methi Parthas, Poori, Bhajiya, Dahi Vada, Raita, Basar Koki (Onion Koki), Tukk Patata (Deep Double fried spiced potatoes), Tukk Kachaloo (Deep Double fried spiced arbi), Bhindi, Mirchi and Aloo Pakoda etc. Pooja and Rituals: Akharri Tikkrri (Pooja Items) – LOLRIS : These are seven sweet balls made from wheat flour and are placed on a small flat bread made of wheat flour. Glazed with fresh white butter and red sindoor teeka over night soaked moong/chana daal, sweetened fresh milk and water mixture, coins, agarbatti, fresh fruits and coconut. These Akharri Tikkrri, moong/chana daal and milk-water mixture are taken in left hand while hand patts on the same and we say: “ Hik Seeyar, bha seeyar, tey seeyar chaar, laakhro Saakhro, humsuro dumsuro, nandhi maayi, wadi maayi langhaye paya paa. Jai yog Maya” (We request goddess of fire to save and protect our family from all kinds of diseases and let everyone be happy and healthy). This has to be done thrice.
