Sheikh Taj, when we were young, you were more than our teacher. You were our motivator. You made us want to come to the mosque. You made Islam beautiful to us. You made us feel like the masjid was a place we belonged. Decades later, we still walk through those same doors. But you are no longer standing there to greet us. You have returned to Allah. You have been washed, shrouded and buried, but what you planted in our hearts never died with you. We never forget our teachers. Every prayer we learned, every lesson we carried, every person you inspired to love the mosque and every piece of knowledge passed on because of you—may Allah place it all on your scale of good deeds. Allah yirhamak Sheikh Taj. May Allah illuminate your grave, forgive you and grant you the highest levels of Jannah. You left the mosque, but you never left our hearts.
