i have worked in a psychiatric hospital before and i came across a similar case where voices commanded the woman to protect her own kids from anyone that comes around. she attacked her husband several times and he left the house for her. her mom came to visit and she st*b her own mom three times in the neck

Ugh this exhausting. Psychosis is an actual mental disorder that happens to men and women. It happens for different reasons. Post partum psychosis is very specific and rare. It’s not just hormones. It’s usually in ppl with underlying bipolar disorders or other health issues. The same way some ppl sleepwalk, have schizophrenia, how some ppl can drink but don’t become alcoholics. And no it’s not an excuse, no one is saying she should walk free. She’s paralyzed l. She should be incarcerated in a mental institution.
