Russia didn't want more land, Russia required Ukraine to stay neutral, as they had been. however NATO took it upon themselves to instigate this war by having NATO operators in Ukraine. and NATO had the chance to put it in writing but instead chose to be arrogant at the expense of all those Ukranians lives.
