My ex has admitted to this too. Sadly i didn’t think of it as something toxic. But he admitted that sometimes when we’re together, he felt this urge to fight me, for no reason, he says that his body is like craving a dopamine hit from starting arguments with me. I didn’t understand it then, I wish i knew.

💯 this! he accused me of "perving on some guy that drove past". I had no idea what he was talking about, I didnt see anyone drive past. he was irate! no matter how much I tried to tell him I had no idea who or what he was talking about. weeks later he laughed about it & told me he was "just fcking with my head". That was just one incident of things like that. They're so cruel & antagonistic

My narc ex admitted this in writing. He admitted that he constantly found things to "sap my joy" especially if I was enjoying myself in simple things of life like cooking or gardening. He admitted it and still continued to do it after we separated even though he admitted we were separated because of his abusive and controlling behavior
