@wideawakepodcast: While we were in Johannesburg, we went to visit the Gabola Church, a church where people can drink alcohol while they pray and worship. We met the church’s founder, Tsietsi Makiti, who calls himself the “Pope”, and spent some time with him to learn more about why he started the church, what they believe, and how it all works. It’s definitely one of the more unusual places we visited on this trip, and we went there to see it for ourselves, ask questions, and hear his side of the story.
