You’re taught in school and in any professional kitchen not to wash raw chicken. The high heat kills any bacteria. Water spreads it. Each to their own.

The heat of the oven will sterilise the chicken better than any random handwashing. Also, if there is anything dangerous on it you’ve spread it around the kitchen surfaces now.

Its a lot safer to just cook your chicken. Washing can cause harmful bacteria to be spread easier. The reason we cook food, is to KILL the bacteria!
