The US supplies, its own oil and gas. The reason it imports Canadian heavy crew is because Canada can’t refine it then the US send it back to Canada after it’s refined. Do you know how much the US says in reserves in Texas alone or NASA?

Don't forget the Welland canal, fully through Canada......so any vessels moving from ocean via Saint Lawrence River and Lake Ontario to Lake Erie and Lake Michigan Huron and Superior all need to go through Canada infrastructure......connecting Lake Ontario to Lake Erie....

Can we be more precise and not state that “Energy” is petroleum only. A fair amount of electricity is fed into northern USA states. Without it their grid might fail but cost would rise a fair bit.
