@artvangarde: The artist Kristin Wiking creates kinetic sculptures, installations and video works, often using simple materials and mechanical or environmental forces to produce unexpected movement. Her practice is strongly influenced by humor, absurd logic, accidents and situations she cannot completely control For her 2026 exhibition Dog and Angel at SIC in Helsinki, Wiking removed or opened several of the gallery’s lower windows and installed a large sheet of thin plastic film inside the space. There is no motor creating the movement. Wind, passing trains, cars and changes in the weather move the air through the building, causing the enormous surface to rise, fall, ripple and suddenly shake. The surrounding city effectively becomes the mechanism powering the sculpture. #asmr #calm #meditation #art #artist
