@c5news: The e-bike rider probably thought he’d got away from police having already evaded several officers as the force launched a “day of action” in Peterborough city last week to “address the use of illegal e-bikes and e-scooters”. “During this, numerous high-vis officers attempted to stop a man as he rode an e-bike at a high speed,” Cambridgeshire Constabulary explained in a social media post. “However, he hadn’t quite spotted our plain clothes officers who were waiting for him and managed to bring him to a stop.” Video of the stop shows an officer flooring the rider with a well-timed tackle. The e-bike was tested and found to be capable of speeds of up to 23mph. The legal limit is 15.5mph. The man will now be reported for numerous driving offences, the force said.
