New job regret PART 2 🤯😩👇 🧠 So you start your new job really excited and enthusiastic, only to arrive to a poor welcome. The company “doesn’t do” inductions, you don’t receive any training and you don’t have a clue what you’re meant to be doing. On top of this your manager seems completely disinterested. What do you do? 🚨 Well you could stay quiet and say nothing. The risk here is in a few months time your manager says you’re not performing. Very unfair when you haven’t been set up to succeed I know ☹️ (see part 1) @Claire | Work people tips 🚨 You could also complain to your manager but the likelihood is a manager like this is unlikely to respond well and it could put you on the back foot. So how do you get on the front foot? 💡I would recommend taking control early on and speaking to your manager about things you think would help you succeed (as shown in this video). Here are some examples: ▶️ A weekly 1:1 with your manager to monitor how things are going, build a relationship and share any concerns ▶️ Set some initial objectives together to give you direction and clarity ▶️ Shadow some experienced people to show you the ropes and help you settle in In an ideal world of course you wouldn’t have to do this but if you find yourself in this position I hope this helps ✨ You’ve got this 💪 #worktips #leadershipdevelopment #managingpeople #communicationskills #corporatelife #difficultpeople #assertivecommunication #badboss #onboarding
