Sarah Everard, a 33-year-old marketing executive, disappeared on the evening of March 3, 2021, after leaving a friend's house in Clapham, South London. She was walking home to Brixton when she was captured on CCTV shortly after 9 p.m., and then vanished without contact. When she failed to return home, her family reported her missing, sparking a large-scale police search that quickly gained national attention. As detectives traced her route home, evidence led them to a suspect: Wayne Couzens, a serving Metropolitan Police officer. Investigators discovered that Couzens had used his position of authority to stop Sarah, falsely claiming she had broken COVID-19 lockdown rules — a tactic that allowed him to take her away. This detail was later confirmed in court. On March 10, police found remains in woodland near Ashford, Kent, which were formally identified as Sarah Everard. The discovery devastated the public and raised urgent questions about how someone working in law enforcement was able to commit such an abuse of power. Couzens was arrested, charged, and later pleaded guilty to kidnapping, false arrest, and murd€r. In September 2021, he was given a whole-life sentence. The judge stated that his actions represented a severe misuse of trust and authority. #saraheverard #truecrime #viral #scary #fyp
