Sea Goblin :
My favourite moment between them is after Rory and Jess crash the car, and everybody is treating Rory like a gullible idiot and Jess like a monster. And Rory goes into Luke’s diner and says “Luke? It wasn’t Jess’ fault.” And Luke just says he knows.

Nobody warned me that after having a baby I would start looking at the SUN going down like it personally offended me 😂😭 Like 5pm would roll around and instead of thinking “aww cozy evening” my brain would immediately go: oh no. Here we go again. Because I knew what was coming. The feeding. The rocking. The transfer that takes 25 minutes just for her eyes to pop open the SECOND her head touches the bassinet 🫠 Then another feed. Another diaper. Another attempt to sleep. And eventually that weird stretch of the night where it’s 3:17am and you’re sitting in a dark nursery wondering how everyone else on earth is somehow asleep. I started getting this pit in my stomach every evening. Not because anything bad was happening. I just knew I was about to be alone for hours. My husband would help, obviously, but eventually he’d fall asleep. Friends weren’t texting. Family wasn’t awake. The group chats were dead. And there I was. Me, a tiny baby, a burp cloth permanently attached to my shoulder, and whatever absolutely unhinged thoughts my exhausted brain decided to produce that night 😂 Is she eating enough? Why did she make that noise? Should she be sleeping longer? Wait when did I change her last diaper? Did I sterilize that bottle? Should I Google this? googles it Immediately regrets Googling it 😭 There is something sooooo weird about nighttime postpartum. During the day, I could handle the exact same things. Baby crying at 1pm? Okay, let’s figure it out. Baby crying at 3am? Clearly my entire life is falling apart 😂 I think it’s because everything feels heavier when the house is dark and silent. And then a few nights ago I opened this app while I was feeding her. I had seen the map before but never really paid attention to it. There were all these little yellow dots everywhere. Moms. Actual moms awake RIGHT THEN. Pumping. Feeding. Scrolling. Rocking babies. Trying to get somebody back to sleep. Just…doing the night shift too. 🥹 And then I saw I could send out a hug. Which sounded kinda silly to me at first lol. But I did it. And moms actually sent hugs back. Sweden. Louisiana. Arizona. Rhode Island. Like excuse me??? 😭❤️ I’m sitting there at some ridiculous hour with one boob out and spit-up on my shirt and somewhere hundreds or thousands of miles away another mom is awake too. And she saw me. That’s what got me. Not advice. Not “sleep when the baby sleeps.” Not another person telling me newborn life goes fast and I’ll miss it someday 🙃 Just another mom basically saying: “I’m here too.” I didn’t realize how badly I needed that. Because postpartum can be so confusing. You can have people who love you. You can have a supportive partner. You can have family nearby. You can be completely obsessed with your baby. And you can STILL feel lonely. Those things can all exist at the same time. Especially at night. 🥺 Now when I’m sitting there at 3am, I sometimes open the map just to look at the lights. And I imagine what’s happening behind each one. One mom warming a bottle. One washing pump parts AGAIN 😭 One bouncing on a yoga ball. One trying to remember which side she fed on last. One eating crackers because she realized she hasn’t eaten since dinner. One desperately trying not to sneeze after finally getting the baby down 😂 One staring at the bassinet thinking PLEASE STAY ASLEEP. We’re all in different houses, different states, even different countries… doing basically the same thing. And idk, there’s something really comforting about that. 💛 The night still sucks sometimes lol. I’m still exhausted. The baby still wakes up. I still occasionally watch the sunset and think “oh god here we go” 😂 But 3am doesn’t feel quite as lonely anymore. Because now I know when my house goes quiet, there are little lights turning on everywhere else too. 🥹💛 And if you’re reading this while feeding, pumping, rocking, scrolling or staring into the darkness wondering if you’re the only person awake… you’re definitely not. We’re up too. ❤️ #mom #baby #MomsofTikTok #momtok #momlife
