Miss..M :
I've noticed that people who want you to get married or have kids are the often the ones who have that life and assume that "that life" is what's best for you. I've had people question me relentlessly about why i don't wana get married or why i don't wana have kids, and in that moment they will, for a lack of better word, "decide", for me that I'm crazy and i don't know what I'm talking about when i say i don't want those things. And usually when i ask them, "what guarantees do they have that those things will joy into my life", they shift the conversation into making me feel as if im being difficult or just plain rude. People in my life , especially the women in my life, will flat out tell me "you need to follow suit now cos we're waiting for your wedding day, we're waiting for you to become a mother, you're next in line now".,without first asking me if I want those things. And i reply by asking them "why do i need those things for"? And their faces change, because they cannot get me to a point where i will agree with them, but in that moment, what they deem perfect for me, is what i should want for me because now they have the ring and the kids, so should i. And they invalidate me when I tell them i don't want that, and their reply is often "girl you're mad, there's no such thing as a woman not wanting to have kids, you're really telling me you plan to live your life alone, i cannot believe what I'm hearing"... I have a hard time as a single and childfree woman being around married people with kids, i cannot stand to be around them, because ultimately their goal will always be to do everything in their power to fit you into that little box that "all women are ought to be in".. And it's exhausting 🌼🌼🌼
