my biggest advice is stop looking for dresses once you've found the one. so many girls find their dress but then say "oh let me just go to a few more stores to make sure" the more you look the more you find. you don't want to be stuck in a situation where now you have several you like.

I planned my own party, and in my opinion, the venue should be picked out FAST, along with the DJ, live mariachi or banda (whatever your style is), food, decor, and photography. I was lucky, and my venue provided tables, chairs, a DJ, and food. Research your vendors as much as you can. Listen to reviews on Google or Yelp; don't fall for people saying they don't focus on those sites and only care about their website or Instagram. Those can easily be manipulated to seem positive. READ THE CONTRACTS!!! Communication is key with everyone involved. I started planning over a year in advance but still had last-minute things. Get your dress before decor. If you love a color on yourself but have already developed a theme or color scheme with the decorators, it takes more time to create another! Enjoy the day; not everything will go according to plan, but that's okay! Breathe and just try to relax. :)

For your court, choose people you KNOW you can trust to commit to your practices and give it their all. I’ve worked with quite a few families who have had chambelanes and damas drop from the court because they didn’t care. As a result I usually have to make last minute changes to the dances, which is not a problem, but can be very stressful for everyone else in the court when it’s last minute.

my biggest advice is to enjoy every minute from the moment ur getting ready to leaving 🥲🥲 another thing is make sure your dress is comfortable and adjusted for you to wear it the majority of the day.. if u don’t like something SPEAK UP!! Enjoy it with the people who showed up, don’t worry abt who doesn’t ( speaking from experience ) make sure people take pictures for u & video practice ur dances ( mom, dad, sister etc!! ) any questions I’d be glad to answer (7/11/26 💔💔)

Eat before u get ready, I regret not eating bc during my Church mass I was hungry and getting frustrated but it was good after all, HAVE FUN! Don’t let anyone get you mad it’s all abt u girly. If you think something is going to go bad trust me things are going to go better than expected. I was told no DJ and I had a dj, it started raining when I left to go in the limo and god cleared the rest of the day. I got so many unexpected surprises so trust me when I tell you that it’ll go better than expected💕
