@australias_southwest: Southern Right Whale season is still very much underway 🐋 At this time of year, mothers and calves can often be found resting close to the coastlines of Australia’s South West, preparing for their journey back towards Antarctic waters. Keep watch from Flinders Bay and Cape Leeuwin Lighthouse near Augusta, the headlands and lookouts around Albany and King George Sound, or further east towards Cheyne’s Beach where these new parents were spotted. Albany’s coastline remains particularly well placed for Southern Right Whale sightings into early spring, while humpback and blue whales are also beginning to move through Geographe Bay around Busselton and Dunsborough.
