My thing is they aren’t those people’s children and they don’t live with them so if the parents are doing what is working in their house let them be. When I go to my friends house her son is autistic so I take my cues from her about how to be with him.

I totally agree, we have people very close who’ve said things or criticized my husband and myself for “giving in” we are helping him regulate through life in his way. His autism doesn’t define him, we embrace it, it’s not for the faint hearted but it sure is the best ride ever

That village is needed!!! Yah that don’t fly here either!!! Amen momma🥰. My grandbaby has her go to foods and she eats well. If she wants to try it great. And yes she is super smart in a lot of things!!! lol. She puts in an ear bud and now wants to go help grocery shop. She said it helps her feel better in the store. I put on her music and she is able to tune out everything around her and the little bit of people in our favorite grocery store that is not packed is perfect for her♥️. Everyone stops and will talk to her if she engages them. Or starts organizing the cans. lol

We are currently in the process of getting my son diagnosed and when we brought it up to my husband’s side. Someone in his family said “oh he can’t be autistic your husband did the same thing when he was that age”. I was so dumbfounded and told them their ignorance is why he struggled as a child and if they can’t support us breaking cycles they don’t need to be around us.

Hear me out…. I kind is the parents. Not how they are saying it, but genetically speaking. Drs just don’t believe me because I’ve masked well for a long time, but then I look at my kids and say “how can they not see me, the proof is right there!”😂 My over claiming my ausome babies because drs ain’t claiming me (I’m saying this from a place of h@ting hearing all the things you’ve stated)

I don’t have a child with autism but I work with about 18+ and I absolutely hate when my colleagues (not special education teachers and not every general education teacher) say oh I could never do that, how do you work with those kids. It sends me into a fucken rage. I’ve had to really watch myself because I went off one time and made a teacher cry well don’t ever talk about my students who are better humans than you. I told that teacher to her face and in front of other people, Thank you so much for informing me what a fucked up, disgusting and horrible teacher you are. Now that you have dropped your mask, I’ll be sure to inform my student’s counselor, administrator and parent, we can call an IEP meeting where your attendance will be required to discuss how we are going to remove them from your class due to these disgusting comments and then you can explain to everyone at the table how you can never work with those students. Ok thank you. The mouths on the floor chefs kiss for me.
