It was absolutely the best choice they could’ve done, character design wise, shit everyone in the show really, stands out. Those facial expressions are so unique to this anime, it makes it stand out from the rest. If you showed me a face with these designs, I’d immediately think of Tanya the evil no question.

Noooo, she's just as crazy in the novels. and her expressions are just as intense as in the anime. this is from vol 3 of the LN. it feels like more because you're constantly seeing her face in the anime as opposed to reading words on a page.
