@withalvin: About 55,000 candidates who sat the 2026 BECE will not qualify for placement into second-cycle institutions after failing either English Language or Mathematics, according to CSSPS Coordinator Sherif Sulemana. He said approximately 565,000 of the estimated 620,000 candidates qualified for placement, while only about 17%—roughly 107,000 candidates—obtained aggregates between 6 and 18. Sulemana clarified that a Grade 9 does not automatically mean a candidate failed, as raw scores are also considered, and announced that CSSPS call centres have been activated to assist candidates and parents with placement-related concerns. So sad, if you ask me. BECE shouldn't determine the future of these kids.
