Every picture you’ve ever seen of a dodo is probably wrong. The chunky, goofy bird from Alice in Wonderland, cartoons, memes, and museum gift shops mostly come from a single painting that helped shape the world’s image of the dodo for centuries. And it wasn’t very accurate. But while Europe was falling in love with this famously inaccurate version of the bird, painted by a man who had only ever seen a very overstuffed dodo, other artists, working under different constraints, were painting something very different. Las autoridades colombianas capturaron este jueves a Richard José Espinal Quintero, alias El Coti, y Henderzon Adrián Villarroel Luque, alias El Patón, presuntos cabecillas del Tren de Aragua y buscados por Estados Unidos, según informó el presidente de Colombia, Abelardo de la Espriella. "Hoy, en Manizales (Caldas), nuestra Policía Nacional, a través de la Dipol y el Gaula-Élite, capturó en la Operación Titán a dos importantes cabecillas de esta organización terrorista transnacional", escribió el mandatario en su cuenta de X. Según detalló De la Espriella, Espinal Quintero era el cuarto cabecilla del Tren de Aragua en Colombia, cuya estructura criminal opera entre la costa del Caribe y el Eje Cafetero, una de las regiones más turísticas del país. "Este bandido mantenía alianzas criminales para el tráfico de cocaína y material bélico y era prófugo desde 2023 con notificación roja de Interpol", agregó el mandatario. Por su parte, Villarroel Luque es acusado de traficar armas y coordinar la logística para el envío de cocaína a Centroamérica, Estados Unidos y Europa. Ambos detenidos están incluidos en la Lista de Nacionales Especialmente Designados y Personas Bloqueadas (Lista SDN) de la Oficina de Control de Activos Extranjeros (OFAC) del Departamento del Tesoro de los Estados Unidos. La semana pasada las autoridades colombianas capturaron a Luis Saúl Pérez Nieto, acusado de ser un cabecilla del Tren de Aragua en Perú y hombre de confianza del fundador de esa banda criminal, alias Niño Guerrero, muerto en junio pasado en una operación en Venezuela.
