Some people are born with sex chromosomes that don’t match their typical physical development. For example, XY individuals with complete androgen insensitivity syndrome (CAIS) can develop female physical characteristics because their bodies cannot respond to testosterone. Conversely, some XX individuals can develop male characteristics due to conditions such as SRY gene translocation. These are known as differences of sex development (DSD).

Gender is a social construct but it is also an internal sense of self that is developed in our brains before we our born. Transgender people exist because genitalia develops (6-12 weeks) before the brain and neuro pathways develop (2nd/3rd trimester). Because the two processes take place completely separately this is why there can be a mismatch between neuro structures and anatomy creating gender dysphoria. So in a way gender is also biological, but that still makes gender and sex separate things. I think we need a lot more public education around the topic for both trans and cis people to be quite honest.

Somehow people try to argue the case of intersex when it is less than 1% of people blows my mind. Though i’ve found that liberals can only argue on the basis of these extremely rare cases because their arguments are so outlandish that they require these outliers.

Sex is also a social construct. There is no need for it other than medical sciences and anatomy. People gave it a name and used it to call humans ‘male’ or ‘female’. It serves no purpose other than to aid with, like I said, medical sciences and research. So, yes, sex is also a social construct
