As a former kindergarten teacher, they expect so much out of these kids. They are mentally exhausted. Not allowed to show emotions throughout the day, so when they get back to their safe space, they feel free to let it out.

I let my kindy sit in silence on the drive home, go decompress in her room playing and when she comes out she’s excited to tell me about her day. Their poor brains are so overstimulated and they jsut don’t have the words to say that. I try to not take these kind of answers personally or keep pushing.

I’ve learned to always bring a snack and just stfu lollll I have so many questions but I try to remember I also want to be left alone when I get off work 😂

and then making them at some point in the evening to do multiple sheets of homework plus reading assignment after 8 hrs in school..as a kindergarter....Grueling to say the least & makes me feel awful as a mom to expect so much when it clearly is draining on them. Makes me so sad.

I don’t ask questions. I just said, I was thinking of you all day. Offer a snack & give her an hour of nothing. She goes to her room, lays in her closet, plays & then comes down later in a great mood. 😅
