@vivian_atueyi: While I use other car hailing apps asides Uber, this is surprising a sad news. We need to understand that if more international companies keep leaving Nigeria, it signals to foreign investors that something doesn’t work in Nigeria and they should be skeptical. Anyways, let me know your thoughts below 👇 #financeconnoisseur

you dey mind them! one person dey do video say make tech people build app for transportation as uber don comot. see my response. Madam it's not that easy... The average commission you can earn to be fair based on drivers demand is 12.5% from one trip if you don't want consumer to bear price increase. even 12.5% on scale, that's what you would use to a run a business, manage server, pay salaries, administrative cost and inflation assuming the investment is locally driven with no fx losses due to devaluation. my question to you is what is return on investment for shareholders and the opportunity cost of investing that money elsewhere. it's not worth it i can tell you for free.

Don’t forget uber is just an app… it’s not like they came here and shared cars for people and left with their cars

Is it true they taking 25%? I don't live in Nigeria, so am honestly asking, if so, that's way off. And that's opportunity for Nigerians developer to come up with their own platform, it's high time. So it's a blessing for the Nigerian dev

None of these ride share, or hailing services own the car, or pay salaries of drivers. The number of vehicles in circulation remains the same. Customer service staff and lease of building is simply not enough to impact us this is not Sao Tome🤣. They practically had zero actual infrastructure.

They simply bit more than they can could chew. They tried to corner the market but the Nigerian market is a wild beast. Good riddance to them. Tell me, why would some drivers continue with a local cab office? My bet is, some will.

I genuinely think it’s a good thing…. 1.Uber drivers are still on bolt and in drive. 2. Transport is already high , its fuel and road that increase transport… 3. If local market can take over international market , prices will reduce more example rice, fuel etc…

This isn’t a fully solid take. Uber left for their own business reasons, read the Bloomberg, Wall Street Journal and other foreign coverages on this exit. Why is everyone making it a Nigeria environment problem? Uber’s business model wasn’t pure from the start: their strategy was penetration pricing to gain traction with the hope that people locked in on their platform would continue. I believe this is an advisory platform so the perspectives must be more rounded and fact-based

CEO. Dara Khosrowshahi : Good afternoon. This business situation is shocking. The exit of multi national companies, is a huge letdown in Nigeria 🇳🇬. A rethink is needed. Let über inc., return to Nigeria, immediately. The company can adjust all the necessary variables. Thank you.
