@spearhead_af: Ghana Moves To Establish Itself As A West African Energy Hub Ghana is moving to establish itself as a West African energy hub. On August 19, the Ghanaian Ministry of Energy announced the government’s plans to set up a gas-for-power energy deal with Nigeria, in which the latter will supply Ghana from its vast natural gas reserves, and get electricity in return. This move will boost energy wealth for and deepen intra-African cooperation between both countries. #Ghana #Nigeria #EnergyNews #PanAfricanism
Can dumso be solved? because we export power. Can we also get electricity across the entire country?

Maybe you need to do some research. Nigeria always supply Ghana gas for our electricity. It was during his first term that Ghana accumulated so much debt to Nigeria and they subsequently disconnected us. The subsequent govt negotiated with Nigeria and they started supplying us with gas till he returned to power again. Because Nigeria disconnected Ghana from the gas supply that's what led to erratic power supply in his regime which was called "DUMSOR"

Exporting power to anyone when you donnot have power 365 days 24 hours a day yourself is foolishness. Ghanaians suffer under light off all year round exporting power is an insult

Honestly, I think this is a really good plan and a great initiative. 🇬🇭🌍
.....
For me, this goes beyond Ghana supplying electricity to Nigeria. This is about Africa learning to support Africa. We need to get to a point where African countries can depend on and help each other instead of always looking outside the continent whenever we need something.
......
We should be building each other up, sharing resources, creating stronger partnerships, and developing Africa together. The more united and self-sufficient we become, the less we have to depend on Western countries or allow outside interests to dictate what we should or shouldn’t do.
....
And then you come into the comments and see people saying, “But Ghana doesn’t even have electricity 24/7, so why are we giving Nigeria power?” 🤦🏾♂️....
Like… do we ever stop to think about the bigger picture? 😂 Every country has challenges. Having power outages doesn’t mean Ghana cannot enter into an agreement that benefits both countries. We need to stop looking at everything from such a narrow perspective.
....
This is bigger than electricity. It’s about cooperation. It’s about African countries helping African countries. It’s about building systems where we can look within our own continent for solutions.
...
I honestly believe more African countries should learn from initiatives like this and start looking at what we can do for each other.
.....
Maybe one day, we won’t just talk about “African unity.” We’ll actually live it.
....
A stronger Africa. A more independent Africa. An Africa that stands together.
....
That’s the vision. 🌍❤️

Why do Western media always interview African leaders about Western exploitation and neocolonialism, why aren't they interviewing Western leaders and asking why the hell they do what they do?
