Denzel Washington is the prime example of. he's at a place to where he can choose any role that he wants and when you get to that point stuff like this don't matter. no more. My problem with black Snape is this. Out of all characters that wouldn’t matter if their race is changed like Dumbledore, Sprout, Flitwick, McGonagall, etc, they chose the ONE character we know is hung under a tree by a rich white boy.

I remember when the first hunger games came out and all these yt dudes were mad Rue was Black instead of a blonde with blue eyes. Except Rue was Black in the book. They convinced themselves she was yt because they couldn't empathize with a Black child

No… People just want characters to exist in a universe where their race isn’t a factor in the story or some kind of plot line. We just want a good story, no matter whoever is what color. What that becomes a focal point it just ruins the story.
