It's definitely ignorant and unnecessary of Tim Burton to change the date to 1943 from 1940. The date was selected intentionally to represent The Blitz

Michael Trondsen :
Parts of the movie were fun, but MAN do I want a proper adaption of the six books. Maybe even into a tv series, cause there’s so much lore and story that they didn’t even hint at in the movie.

In terms of book-to-movie adaptation it was absolutely horrible but in terms of visuals and acting it’s so good

I’ve never seen this movie. Do the kids know that their day is on loop and do different things during the day or is everyday the exact same?

This movie is pretty good when you haven’t read the books. I had been a fan of the books since they first came out, and watching this movie was like seven billion punches to the gut
