Harem Palace, Salah El-Din Citadel Built by Muhammad Ali Pasha in 1826 and completed in 1827, Harem Palace was created as a private royal residence for his family. Its architecture blends European Baroque influences with Ottoman decorative art. Gezira Palace Commissioned by Khedive Ismail for the opening of the Suez Canal in 1869, Gezira Palace welcomed royalty and distinguished guests from around the world. Its architecture drew inspiration from the Alhambra, blending Moorish and Andalusian elegance.
