26 FOREIGNERS DETAINED IN OPERATION INTEGRATED WITH PETALING JAYA CITY COUNCIL PETALING JAYA, 22 JULY 2026 – The Malaysian Immigration Department of Selangor, in collaboration with the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ), conducted an integrated operation involving Ops Mahir, Ops Selera, and Ops Kutip around the Petaling Jaya area. The operation, which began at 8:00 am, involved 18 officers from the Malaysian Immigration Department of Selangor and 50 officers from the Petaling Jaya City Council. The operation was conducted based on intelligence, public complaints, and ongoing monitoring of business premises and areas of high foreigner activity. During the operation, 53 individuals were screened, including locals and foreigners. The results revealed that 26 foreigners were detained for various offenses under the Immigration Act 1959/63. Additionally, seven (7) summons were issued, and five (5) employers were taken into action for assisting in the investigation. The detained foreigners were taken to the Immigration Department for documentation and further investigation. Further action will be taken in accordance with the applicable legal provisions. The Malaysian Immigration Department of Selangor will continue to strengthen strategic cooperation with local authorities and other enforcement agencies to combat undocumented immigrant arrivals, detect employers employing undocumented workers, and ensure compliance with the Immigration Act 1959/63. The public is also urged to report any violations of immigration laws to the Malaysian Immigration Department.
