@realistic.body.therapist: I hate diet culture. Not because it's inconvenient — because of what it actually does to people. It teaches us that food has a moral value before we even learn to trust our own hunger. It tells us thinner is always better, restriction is discipline, and shrinking ourselves is something to be proud of. It hands us rules that change every year and calls the confusion "wellness." For so many people, this isn't just annoying — it's the entry point into years of struggling silently with food. The guilt, the rules, the constant self-monitoring… none of that is normal, and none of it is healthy. But diet culture is so loud and so normalized that it can be hard to even recognize when something has crossed from "trying to be healthy" into something much more serious. This is exactly the kind of pattern I help people unlearn — because food was never supposed to come with this much shame attached. If this is resonating and you're ready to rebuild a peaceful relationship with food, I'd love to work with you.
