@therealdrpsychmom: We know our phones are eating up our attention. Apparently, most of us know it while it’s happening. More than half of U.S. adults say they spend too much time on their smartphones, and among adults under 30, that figure jumps to 70%, according to new Pew Research Center data. Even more striking: 42% of adults ages 18–29 say they’re on their phones almost constantly. Phones can help us stay informed and connected, but people also see real downsides: lost sleep, lower productivity, and worse mood. And while 45% of adults have tried to cut back in the past year, changing the habit is often easier said than done. The question may not be whether phones are “good” or “bad,” but whether we’re using them intentionally, or just reaching for them automatically. https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2026/09/01/about-half-of-americans-say-they-spend-too-much-time-on-their-smartphone/
