this is what my brain did automatically as a kid but the "show your work" police killed that and made me learn division the old way.

is it me or this is not easy for a kid? because u can look at it an say it.s easy because u know it already. like 3876/12, yes for us is clear that we must take 3600 because we already KNOW that 12x3 is 36, but a kid knows it? same when u see 172 u know to subtract 160 because u know that is divisible by 12 already. Someone gets what i am saying?

Isn’t this just a different visualization of long division? I feel like we did these exact same steps just above the line instead of with pyramids.

Ok I’d enjoy math so much more if this was how I learned it. And I was actually pretty good at math in school but this makes it look less intimidating!
