Phantom limb is a crazy thing. When my dad got his first leg amputated he forgot he didn’t have it and fell when trying to get off the toilet 😭😂😂

its the homunculus, it's your brains map of your body that it uses to control and understand it. So now it's going to need months of sensory input (you using your hand in daily activities) to understand the change and remap the homunculus correctly. it can do it. its called neuroplasticity

phantom limb is a thing also phantom pain it's a documented thing where people with amputation still be feeling that limb and feel like it hurts etc
