@builtbybec: I made a checkerboard coffee table that looks like solid wood but is actually veneer! #ad 166 squares of walnut and maple veneer, all cut on my @Cricut Maker 5. It was so nice not having to hand cut them all and this way I made sure they are exactly the same size so the checkerboard came out seamless. The trick is taping them all together into one sheet before any glue goes down. Then you roll on wood glue, let it dry for 30 minutes, and iron the whole thing straight onto the plywood. The heat reactivates the glue and it grabs instantly. I think its better than the $6K version, what do you think?
