@mightyyyymouse: If you want honest answers from a narcissist, ask about their exes. Then listen close. They’re describing THEMSELVES. “My ex was crazy.” Give it six months. Guess who’s crazy now. “They cheated.” Check their phone. Wait, you already did. That’s why you can’t sleep. “They used me for money.” Look at your bank account and laugh. It’s called projection and it’s the most reliable confession you’ll ever get. Narcissists can’t hide who they are, so they hide it in PLAIN SIGHT, wearing their ex’s name tag. And here’s where I call you out. You already knew this. First date, they told you every ex was a monster, and you thought “wow, they’ve been through so much.” No. That was the trailer for YOUR movie. You watched the whole preview and bought a ticket anyway. You weren’t dumb. You were kind. They count on kind. But now you know the trick. Their complaints are a mirror. Their accusations are a diary. When they told you what their ex “did,” they were reading you their résumé. So here’s your homework. Remember what they said about the one before you. Now count how much of it is happening to YOU. Yeah. That feeling. That’s the fog lifting. How can I heal if I don’t know what cut me.
