let this be a lesson to all DV victims- speak up otherwise you could have guilt that staying silent led to someone's death. If there was a criminal record for DV there would be no way baby Preston would have been placed with them

I’ve just been through the adoption process. They have to interview ex partners as part of the process. Unless he lied about him

In 1999 a 4 yr old boy was murdered and abused by potential adopters, this was in Brighton and Hove and set a precedent that all potential adopters should have their ex partners interviewed, as an ex said if they would have asked me I would have told the s/w to never let him near a child. All potential adopters have their ex partners interviewed as part of the process now.. if this was not done then the assessing social worker should be looked at, plus the assessors manager and the adoption panel and then the decision maker.. that child should still be here 💔

And this this is why we must report dv! And any type of an abuse men woman! Kids you see if you shout up about it, yes it’s bloody difficult but there is support.
