His name is Sony Raymond. He was sent there because he was born in Haiti, moved to the United States when he was 5 years old, committed crimes, was sent to prison, and when he was released from prison in 2020, he was sent to Haiti because under immigration law, if a person who is born in another country and moves to the United States and commits a crime can be sent back to the place of their birth. He doesn’t want to live there because he doesn’t speak Haitian Creole and, as he says, he doesn’t know anyone living there and has no living relatives there. It would be like you going off and living in Brazil or something.
