@neilpatel: If you're a marketer using AI, there's a big change that just rolled out that's going to affect your marketing in a negative way. As of August 2nd, Anthropic is watermarking every large piece of text and media you generate or edit with Claude. If they don’t, the fine is up to 15 million euros, or 3% of global revenue. 200 companies including Meta, Open AI, Microsoft and Google have already agreed to it and more will follow, which means marketing is about to change once again… A 16-month study tracking over 4,200 articles found pure AI content already ranks 23% lower than human-written content. And the watermark makes this worse. Its like a hidden dial only Anthropic will know the setting of. Making Claude prefer certain words over others. One subtle preference doesn’t matter, but across paragraphs, it creates a statistical pattern. Like weighted dice coming up on certain numbers more than others. Every lazy marketer or company relying on AI content will not only get exposed but will lose any chance of platforms pushing their content.
