After moving, I literally had one doctor say to me "I treat the lab result, not how you feel." He didn't and wouldn't do free T3 and reverse T3. I've had hashimoto's for years. I have half my thyroid. I have other autoimmune as well. I have borderline to low ferritin and lower end B12. I don't absorb a lot of things or meds well. The push back was met with 'if you don't like what we do with your meds, you can find another doctor.' So some doctors are really awful. Most don't listen anyway. It's worse in the Midwest.

So many people I know with Hashimoto’s have PA (Pernicious Anemia) I do. Not only do I not absorb T4 what little I get I can’t convert into T3.,I’ve know this for years - years ago I was put on T3 only treatment I was taking 80mcg and it was great. My FT3 finally went up to 6.0 ‘y FT4 stayed steady at about 8.0 despite not taking Levo then with no warning the NHS blacklisted it, I was taken of my meds and forced into T4. I became very sick -my TSH sky rocketed into the 50’s my FT4 stayed the same but my FT3 dropped to just 2.0 and never moved up. I was just left to suffer, I had chronic vitamin D deficiency but could absorb the tablets, I have iron deficiency, B12/folate but was told or treated. I thought I was dying!! 😔 when I finally got my T3 back it wasn’t a magic fix, the same has been done. I fixed my deficiencies but I’m only on 40mcg now but they insist I still take Levo my T4 level rarely moves with or without it but taking it means I can’t use my t3 I do take and I can’t get my FT3 above 3.5 so I still feel awful. 😔 desperately challenging my endo to get my old 80mcg dose back but it’s not easy!! It’s so obvious I don’t convert T4.

No one ever told me it was going to fix my thyroid, it just replaces the hormone my thyroid no longer makes.

I had graves and eventually had to have a full thyroidectomy done, so the levothyroxine I have to take is the t4 hormone I can no longer produce and my brain is making tsh for what? I'm lost now but I feel like I should know this by now😭😭

I have hypothyroidism with Hashimoto’s yes I lose hair. I had a head full of real curly hair now it’s kind of thin, but here’s the thing I didn’t gain weight. I lose weight I fight to keep weight on and I’m on level of thyroxine a high dose, but let the Hashimoto kick in and I lose weight.

Hi i have been taken Thyroxine since i was 19yrs old . I was diagnosed with Graves’ disease and they gave me carbinzole to treat it and i had a serious allergic reaction to the medication so they gave me radio iodine treatment and they said it killed my thyroid. Do i need to still take Thyroxine? Or is there something i can do?
