Please hear me when I say—most airlines do NOT let you hang your dress up, I learned the hard way. Put it in your carry-on bag like you’re doing here. That’s the safest option

Hold it as is (in the clothing bag) and then ask the flight attendants to store it for you (there are places to hang it on the flight) our flight attendants were kind and made sure the dress was properly stored throughout the flight

Destination wedding planner and travel agent here! Confirm with your airline, but you should be able to just hang this up as you’re walking onto the plane! Then there’s no risk of losing it, or wrinkling it

Don’t listen to these comments. This is the safest option for your dress. Not all planes have closets and sometimes they are occupied with equipment or wheelchairs.

This is what I did! Made me feel better that I knew the dress was safe inside the suitcase and wouldn’t get ripped or stained. I didn’t let the bag out of my sight 😆

Err on the side that flight attendants / gate people wont care. Even after calling customer service to confirm closet availability and sitting business class to ensure I was first to board, they told me there was no space in the closet and I had to place it in the overhead bin!

Girl absolutely travel with it in a hard shell carry on!!! Do NOT listen to people saying you can hang it up. There is a very good chance you can’t and you won’t want to put this in the bins in just the garment bag and have people carelessly throw their crap on it! Carry on bag, look at the ones from Away because they have a list of compatible airlines (including international) and toss an air tag in there for good measure. You can hang them in the closet on the plane! My dress flew across the world twice and it wasn’t an issue on any of the 4 flights! Just talk to a flight attendant ❤️

Flying internationally with my wedding dress on Sunday and I’m just gonna carry it on in its bag and if they let me hang it up somewhere, great. If they don’t, I’ll shove it into the bin somewhere lol. I don’t really care as long as it’s with me.

I traveled to Jamaica for my wedding and they allowed me to take it on board as no extra charge and they stored it for me on their storage area! They were so kind and happy to do so!
