that is my cousins (the guy in the photos with mariae/LC) girlfriend. weve been raising money on the gofundme to bring her back home!! ive been seeing her name pop up on posts on instagram and im just disgusted by how many filipinos simply do not believe she came her legally and assume its all her fault. ate LC’s story is simply heartbreaking. i wont share too much about it on here, but thank you for bringing light to her and these issues with filipino americans. much love 💙

...it's really upsetting to see people's lack of empathy run dry I'm seeing people on different sides of the spectrum say "Well they voted for this they deserve it" or "is she legal" where is your sense of humanity? under no circumstances should anyone go through this no matter what!! no one should have to face this kind of injustice and abuse

As a white leftist dude in WV married to a Filipina, it has been insanely hard to make friends with other Filipino/American couples because so many of them are loudly MAGA, homophobic and racist towards black people. It is insane and always uncomfortable for them when they find out that we are the exact opposite and equally as loud when we need to be. I have been surprised because the first Filipinos I met when we worked together were always super cool, happy and accepted everybody. I had no idea that Filipino Catholic far rights existed until the MAGA movement.
