@truecrime.storiess: Niqui McCown was a 28-year-old mother from Richmond, Indiana, who disappeared on July 22, 2001. At the time, Niqui was preparing to get married in just a few weeks. More than 25 years later, she has never been found, and no one has been arrested or charged in connection with her disappearance. Her case remains one of the most significant unsolved cases for the Richmond Police Department. On the afternoon of July 22, Niqui was seen in Richmond before telling her fiancé, Bobby Webster, and her family that she was going to a laundromat nearby. She went there to do laundry, and investigators later learned that she had reportedly felt uncomfortable around two men at the laundromat. Surveillance footage captured Niqui leaving the area and getting into her 1990 GMC Jimmy. There was nothing on the footage that clearly showed she was being forced to leave. That would be the last confirmed sighting of her. Niqui did not return home, and she was reported missing. Investigators began searching for her and her vehicle, but months passed without finding either. Then, on November 3, 2001, her GMC Jimmy was discovered at an apartment complex in Dayton, Ohio. The location was significant because Niqui had connections to Dayton. Her vehicle contained her clean, folded laundry, but Niqui was not there. Investigators also found signs that the vehicle had been tampered with, adding another unanswered question to the case. Over the years, investigators examined people connected to Niqui and developed several lines of inquiry. One person who has continued to receive attention is former coworker Tommy Swint, who remains a person of interest according to recent reporting. Swint was later indicted in an unrelated m*rder case in 2010, but he d*ed by s*icide before authorities could arrest him. Importantly, he was never charged in Niqui McCown’s disappearance, and investigators have not publicly established that he was responsible for what happened to her. In 2026, new reporting brought renewed attention to the investigation as the 25th anniversary of Niqui’s disappearance approached. Richmond detectives said the case remains active, and investigators continue to work through evidence that has been preserved for more than two decades. Her family has also continued to keep her name in the public eye, holding events in her memory and asking anyone with information to come forward. Today, the biggest questions remain unanswered: What happened to Niqui after she left the laundromat, how did her vehicle end up in Dayton, and where is she now? There has been no confirmed discovery of Niqui, no criminal charges in her disappearance, and no definitive explanation for the evidence investigators have found. #truecrime #truecrimetok #missingperson #disappearance #truecrimecommunity
