“The spirits whisper a name” was unnecessary to me because Vol’jin is a pragmatic leader I can 100% see him in his last moments thinking Sylvanas was the best choice to lead during a war for survival against the literal Burning Legion. Considering the Jailer probably wasn’t even a thing in the writers’ minds yet and then they retroactively made it the Jailer (specifically Mueh’zala working for the Jailer), I just hate that line more and more everyday because it removes agency from Vol’jin himself. This is all without getting into how Sylvanas as a Warchief with ruthless pragmatism to ensure the security of the Horde would any day of the week have been better than the Shadowlands plot.
