Until you go to another country, you will never know the monumental value the ADA is to our society. It has become so enmeshed into our lives that we take it for granted.

As silly as it sounds, I am in tears as I write this: Because of this protest, my little girl gets to go to school, to be a kid, to get accommodations if we go to a place like the zoo or aquarium.

The fact that there are some people who want to get rid of the ADA baffles and enrages me. It is one of the things that makes me proudest to be an american, very few countries are as accessible as america and it’s something we should be ten toes down proud of.

My dad was so mad in the early 90’s when he had to spend thousands to build a ramp into his store when “it’s not like we even get customers in wheelchairs.” Then my sister was in a car accident in 1994. He was carrying her up two outside flights of stairs in the rain to get to her orthodontist appointment when he realized WHY he’d never had a customer in a wheelchair. His heart was changed that day

is someone who was born in 2004 and has been diagnosed with autistic since 2008 I am able to be confident in jobs and know that there's laws securing me and it terrifies me everyday that this can be taken away we have to continue the fight or it was all for nothing
