Huge Kylie fan. Usually a huge Jason fan. This take feels ick to me. Not every family is a breastfeeding family, so not every family has a baby latching to ANYONE’s t*ts. It’s a time of bonding with your baby, supporting mom, and transitioning as a family. Honestly so disappointed in this privileged and dismissive take.

Maternity leave for men is not for the men to be there for the baby, but to be there for the mother to help support her

This bit or segment missed the mark completely!! I get they’re trying to be funny, but it really reinforces this harmful idea that Dads aren’t needed or important in the postpartum period. Kylie has shared Jason wasn’t as involved because of football. But she’s been transparent and public about the help she has from parents and nanny’s, which is great!!! Not everyone has that and we all need a village. Dad being part of that village is needed and healthy for everyone! Good for you Jake! You take every second of that paternity leave🙌🏽❤️

Paternity leave is 100% to help mom. That’s why PPD is so rampant. Women go through hell those first few weeks. Being able to have your partner at home to help can make a massive difference.

My husband took off 1 month to stay with me (unpaid) and I was soooooo thankful for it. Omg, 3 months would have been amazing! I was so scared when he had to go back to work and I was solo with our daughter.

A lot of families in the US use paternity leave at the end of the other parent’s leave to increase the amount of time before their infant is enrolled in childcare. So instead of enrolling your infant in daycare at 3 months they are able to wait until 6 months.

Paternity leave is supporting the new mother. Who is healing. Physically and mentally. What a massive adjustment for everyone. This is such a privileged take. Also - how about a dad not wanting to miss moments with the baby? I feel that is reason enough.

Jason needs to stand in the corner and think about what he’s done.

Jason is speaking from a place of privilege where he can literally hire other people to attend to running the household, Lawn Care, transportation, dietary/shopping, errands. He’s not considering that all those things need attention typically by the father, while the mother is bonding, perhaps nursing and healing.

Travis sweating the entire time, knowing Taylor would write a burn album about this scenario.

What you’re failing to acknowledge is that the wife is healing. It would be nice to have someone around that would help with the baby while she’s trying to recover from having a baby. And it takes weeks to recover.

This is a wild take that just kept going. Travis tried to help cut it short but damn Jason really wanted to let everyone know where he stands on fathers being helpful.

You lost me here. Postpartum is a lot harder without a solid community or wealth. Does Jets Jake have reliable family, a maid, a nanny, etc? I’d assume no. It’s a hard adjustment period, and his wife deserves all his time she can get for support.

Are you all about being a good husband? Because paternity leave is a great time, perhaps the best, to support your wife.
