Sounds like a class action lawsuit Ford does not want.

Have you actually talked to an engineer or someone that would be in a position to actually know what it going on? I’m not meaning a mechanic or manager at a dealership

at the dealership having cars come in with issues caused by software "anomalies" that dont have a fix yet has been a common thing for awhile now.

Just like every money grabbing, stock driven corporation today, their deciding if it's cheaper to pay out the lawsuits or for the fix. They will always take the cheaper route to maximize profits. Big corporations don't care about quality and integrity. They care about numbers.

Let’s send the computer my way . I would love to test it . Was a AUTOSTAR or BSW issue in the boatload or firmware ?? . Was it the binary file ? Was it the driver chip ? If it was the driver chip then let’s cut it open or xray it . Or let ford do this because that’s what they must be doing now to point the blame in a long email to Bosch .

Bosch and holly 100% . bronco sales have tanked they dont care, but all it takes is the Feds to step in and magically an”fix” will come out. There is not real software under the Ford Software but the chips are coded to do or not do things, so i get that thought process. The master chip code is t reload able usually and reflashing fords code maybe doesnt work? Has anyone at ford said putting the ecu into maintenance mode and force reflashing the ford tune/code works or not?? Thats vital to understand

missed that the manufacturers limit the engineering of the parts to last 10 years no less no more. most parts have a death day designed.

It’s all about intellectual property. Give up the software rights you lose the profit for upgrades.

it could also be an issue with communication between software layers and both companies have to figure out how to get the two layers to communicate

@Steve Freitag: Might be an electronic piece that is unobtainium, so until ‘Bosch’ gets enough, they can’t fix. Years ago Apple had a main board with built in vid driver that would switch the video output depending on what you were doing. It started to shut down/restart the computer when switching, it was a diode or such that would wear out. Had to get an updated board to fix.

Bosch (or whoever) creates a basic microcode to have this operating out of the box. This programming can be customized. Ford probably was ok with the out the box strategy but should have reprogrammed to tune in the broncos. Now they don’t want to spend resources to fix. And now there’s not much consumer protection. Only recourse is for people to avoid ford and broncos…..which won’t happen and ford knows this (brand loyalty for some reason).
