the cheating itself is only half of it. what happens in the weeks after can either start making things feel safer or quietly make everything worse. and most of the damage comes from things that sound normal. • trickle truth, finding out in pieces means finding out over and over • defensiveness, when they protect themselves instead of facing what they broke • minimizing, "it wasn't that serious" just leaves you carrying it alone • being told to move on, rushed healing turns into hidden hurt • inconsistent stories, trust can't start rebuilding while the story keeps changing if someone is doing one of these to you, you're not crazy for still hurting. which one made it hardest for you educational content only, not therapy or individualized advice #affairrecovery #betrayaltrauma #infidelityrecovery #healingafterbetrayal #couplestherapy
