@julias.wildlife: 📢 Ladies and Gentlemen, may we present to you - one of the most extraordinary animals on our planet - the Aye-Aye! ✨️👀 Maybe you have never ever heard of this weird looking creature, but don't be scared, this lemur from the dry- and rainforests of Madagascar is truly incredible! 🤩🤯 Here are some quick Aye-Aye facts! 🤓 ☝🏻Their long skinny middle finger is nearly 360° rotatable. It functions as a hook to get grubs out of tree holes. 🪱 They love larvae! This food makes up most of their diet, but they also eat fruits, nuts, nectar and fungi. 🦷 They are the only primates with continuously growing incisors! This allows them to bite bark to get to grubs or even coconuts. 🐿 When first discovered by European scientists in the 19th century, the Aye-Aye was classified as a rodent, a squirrel to be precise. 🌙 They are the largest nocturnal primate in the world. ❗️They are one of the 25 most endangered primates and suffer heavily from the destruction of their habitat as well as human persecution due to the traditional belief that they are evil and can be the harbringer of death. We want to increase awareness for this special lemur, because the weird ones also deserve to be protected. 💚 #ayeaye #アイアイ #lemur #madagascar #creepycute
